Why is Microsoft Excel Required to run SQL Converter?

SQL Converter 2 is an Excel add-on that make it easy to convert worksheets to real SQL database tables. It has been tested with Microsoft Excel for Windows - versions 2000, 2002 (XP), 2003, and 2007 beta.

Will it work with Excel 2007?

SQL Converter 2 for Excel does work in Office 2007 Beta 2. The SQL menu appears in the "Add-Ins" Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).

Which Target Database Servers are Supported?

MySQL 3, 4, and 5 are supported target servers.

The output may or may not be compatible with other servers, including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle. However, these servers have not been tested.

What is Different Between the Trial and Registered Editions?

The trial edition of SQL Converter for Excel, which can be downloaded from this web site, limits exports to at most 25 rows per worksheet. Once you buy a license key and enter it into the trial edition, the product will transform into the full edition.

Are Cell Formulas Included in Conversions?

No, there is no way to represent cell formulas in a SQL database server.

Some formulas can be rewritten as SQL queries but unlike spreadsheets databases only store and manipulate data and have little or nothing to do with the presentation of the data.

You can build web applications to run calculations, but that logic is separate from the database and not part of the data conversion process.

Will the Cell Colors be Preserved?

No, there is no way to represent the color of a cell in a SQL database server. The tool only converts the data present in the spreadsheet and not cell colors.

Can Conversions be Called from a Script?

No, SQL Converter 2 for Excel is a VBA macro and cannot be easily initiated from a script.

Is Mac OS X Supported?

Microsoft Excel for Mac OS X is not currently supported. However, support is planned for the next release.

SQL Converter 2 for Excel does work under Apple's Boot Camp, provided that you have a copy of Microsoft Excel for Windows.

What if I Lost my Registration Key?

If you've lost your registration key, please let us know. Please include the exact name used to buy the product and approximate date of your order. This information will allow us to find your order in our record quickly and resend your product key.

Does it use Adware or Spyware?

No. SQL Converter for Excel is pure try before you buy, limited evaluation software. It has no "phone home" activation and does not send data back to us.

How Many Rows can be Exported?
